DOUGLASVILLE, GA — Police have arrested a suspect in the New Year's Day shooting that sent two people in Douglasville to the hospital.

Anthony Bryant McKinney has been taken into custody, the Douglasville Police Department announced Tuesday morning.He is charged with three counts of aggravated assault in the shooting, which happened at about 4 p.m. Sunday on Colquitt Street.

The Church Street Farmers Market opens for the 2026 season on May 5th from 3pm to 6:30pm.The Church Street Farmers Market features locally grown produce, cut flowers, homemade breads, jams, jellies, vinegars and sweets, meat and seafood, local raw honey, handmade crafts, soaps, candles, and more. The market also partners with Georgia Fresh For Less to double up to $50 of SNAP/EBT benefits for fresh produce.
Free parking is available along Church Street and at the parking deck next to the Douglasville Conference Center.
