Jerry Alvin Walden, 69, Dies

Funeral services were conducted on Aug. 15, from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Vincent Dortch officiating.

Jerry Alvin Walden, 69 of Carrollton, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 13, at his residence. He was born Jan. 18, 1944 in Knoxville, TN., the son of the late George Dewey Walden and Mamie Alice Russell Walden. He was retired from Specialty Finishers as a painter and was a Free and Accepted Mason and was a Past Worshipful Master of his lodge.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, David Walden and brothers, Marvin Tipton and Donnie Walden. He is survived by his best friend and companion, Toby; wife, Debra Caton Walden of Carrollton; children: Jerry Walden, Jr. and his wife, Libby, of Snellville, Georgia, Melissa “Missie” Walden of Sevierville, Tennessee, Jeanne Walden Sims and her husband, Jimmy of Monroe, Georgia, and Lori Walden Gaylord of Wendell, North Carolina; sisters: Shirley Keesee of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Bobbie Clayton, and her husband, Edward, of Lenoir City, Tennessee; brother: Billy King, Jr. of Knoxvill e, Tennessee; nine grandchildren: Stephanie Walden, Sabrina Allen, Joshua Walden, Mandy Jenes, Christopher McKenzie, Becca McKenzie, Nathan Jackson, David Jackson, and Sara Jackson; four great, grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted on Aug. 15, from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Vincent Dortch officiating.

In accordance with his wishes, the body will be cremated following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, reference Lung Cancer, www.americansociety.com or 1-800-227-2345.
