
Mr. Jerry Franklin Wheeler, age 66, of Douglasville, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2013. He was born in Carrollton, GA on Feb. 2, 1947, the son of the late Roy Wheeler and Edna Kennedy Wheeler McWhorter. He was a self-employed automobile mechanic having operated Lee Road Auto for several years and he was a Baptist by faith.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Claude McWhorter.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Jean Gay Wheeler of Douglasville; stepmother, Mozelle Wheeler of Tallapoosa; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Hal Waters of Villa Rica; son, Michael Wheeler of Winston; brother, Richard Wheeler of Hiawassee; sister and brother-in-law, Kitty and Thomas Fowler of Maryland; stepbrothers, Johnny, Steve and Dwayne DeVere; 4 grandchildren, Emily, Madison, Austin and Payton Waters.

Funeral Services were conducted on Saturday, June 22, 2013 from Hightower’s Memorial Chapel with Pastor Hal Waters officiating. Music selections will be rendered by Heather Camp. A reception followed the service in the Hightower’s Memorial Chapel Family Care Center.
In accordance with his wishes, Mr. Wheeler will be cremated following the services.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Douglas County Animal Shelter, 1755 County Services Rd, Douglasville, GA 30134 or to the charity of your choice.
