John Robert Schildroth, 75, Former Douglasville City Councilman, Retired U.S. Navy Vet
Funeral service is Thursday, April 17, at Hightower's Memorial Chapel in Douglasville.

John Robert Schildroth, age 75, of Douglasville passed away on Saturday, April 12, 2014. He was born in Alton, Illinois on January 7, 1939 to the late Leonard Schildroth and Eileen Weigler Schildroth. He was retired from SuperValu where he worked as the Produce Product Manager and after retirement continued to work at Chapel Hills Golf Club and West Pines Golf Course.
He also served for six years as a Douglasville City Councilman including two years as Mayor Pro Tem.

He served his country in the U.S. Navy and was retired.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Schildroth and his brother, Richard Schildroth.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Janet Kay Fagan Schildroth; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Derrick Roberts of Winston: son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Mindy Schildroth of Douglasville; sisters, Carol Sue Hailer and Sharon Yakubovich; brothers, Ronald Schildroth, Charles Schildroth, Leonard Schildroth, Michael Schildroth; grandchildren, Dana and husband Dustin Mobley of Piedmont, Alabama, Leslie Roberts and fiance’ Austin Reaves, Dylan Roberts, Logan Schildroth, Hannah Schildroth; and great-granddaughter, Macie Mobley.
The Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2014 from Hightower’s Memorial Chapel with Reverend Steve McFall and Reverend Charles Gibbs officiating.
Interment will follow in Rosehaven Cemetery with Logan Schildroth, Dylan Roberts, Austin Reaves, Dustin Mobley, Jason Weeks and Jimmy Tonkin serving as Pall Bearers.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 from 4 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
