The store, at 5590 Mableton Pkwy., is one of 28 stores the company that owns Kmart will be shutting down in mid-November.

MABLETON, GA — Twenty-eight more Kmart stores, including one in Mableton, will be closing soon, the company has announced. The closures of the Sears-owned stores will be in addition to 180 store closings already announced this year.

Sears Holding Corp., which owns the stores, recently reported another quarterly operating loss. Thanks in part to shoppers migrating to the Web from the malls, Sears sales at stores open for at least a year fell 11.5 percent in the second quarter ended July 29, the company announced.
