Larry Allen Davis, 65, Dies

Larry Allen Davis, 65 of Winston, passed away Sunday, September 1, 2013.  He was born September 9, 1947 in Atlanta. Davis retired from AT&T with 32 years of service working as a Communications Technician in the power group. He loved spending time with his family, enjoyed videography, walking, bicycle riding, camping and enjoyed motorcycle rides with his sons. He was an avid reader and enjoyed Bible study and research. He was a member of Central Baptist Church, where he was very active in the video ministry.

Mr. Davis is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Pam Davis of Winston, GA; daughter, Bonnie Armstrong and her husband, Pat of Salina, KS; son, Lauren Davis and his wife, Michelle of Tulsa, OK; son, Adam Davis and his wife, Becky of Douglasville, GA; his mother, Margaret Davis of Lithia Springs, GA; nine grandchildren; brother, Reggie Davis and his wife, Brenda of Palmetto, GA; sister, Shirley Jernigan and her husband, Vann of Fairburn, GA; sister, Rosalind Hillhouse and her husband, Randy of College Park, GA; numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father, Allen Davis.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 5 until 8 p.m. The funeral service will be Wednesday, Sept. 4, at 2 p.m. at Central Baptist Church with Reverend Steve McFall and Reverend Charles Gibbs officiating. Mr. Davis will lie in state at the church from 1 until 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Rosehaven Memorial Park.
