- MLB reporter Kelsey Wingert and Casey Linch have tied the knot just weeks after she was struck by a foul ball. The couple was married on Saturday, Jun. 4 at Foxhall Resort in Douglasville just three weeks after her sideline injury. Last month, the reporter was sitting by first base during the Colorado Rockies vs. San Francisco Giants game when she was struck by a 95-mph foul ball. (Us Weekly)
- The Stan Johnson Company has completed the $5.9-million sale of a retail center off of Highway 5 in Douglasville. The strip center totals 6,975 square feet and is leased to Starbucks, Zales and Five Guys, all of which have opted to operate on long-term net leases. The property is situated on 0.94 acres and was built in 2021. (Connect CRE)
- Buyer beware! Mechanics in Georgia are warning locals that criminals are finding new, simple ways to tamper with vehicles so they will sell. Wanda King-Whitby was car hunting when she found a used vehicle she thought was right for her. After purchasing the vehicle and driving it home, she immediately ran into issues. It turns out that someone had used electrical tape to cover the check-engine light. King-Whitby was fortunate enough to receive a cash refund, but others may not be so lucky. (CBS 46 News)
