Mt. Vernon Road Closed To Traffic

DOUGLASVILLE, GA — A portion of Mt. Vernon Road in Douglas County has been shut down until further notice due to construction.

The road, just north of Interstate 20 near Lithia Springs, was closed Thursday between Skyview Drive and Sweetwater Terrace.

Construction is being done in the area, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office reported. Motorists should expect delays and avoid the area if possible.

Barricades have been placed to block off that patch of road, according to the sheriff's office.
