Neighbors 'Saw The Bodies in the Street' in Shooting Spree
Five dead included gunman in Douglasville incident; two injured in critical condition.

After a series of gunshots rang out in a Douglasville community Saturday, neighbors came outside to find bodies in the street — the results of what appears to be a domestic shooting rampage.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said Sunday morning Cedric G. Prather, 33, shot six people, killing four of them before turning the gun on himself. He died at a local hospital.
Also dead are Latoya A. Andrews, 33, Joseph Terry Brown, 33 and two children, ages 9 and 7. Two other children, ages 15 and 8 were critical, but stable at a local hospital.

The sheriff’s office did not elaborate on the relationship between Prather and the victims, but media reports noted those the shooter was the woman’s ex-husband.
“I saw the bodies in the street,” Andrew Ansah told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “It was the mother, the daughter and the dad.”

Lt. Glenn Daniel said in a Sunday email that officers responded around 3:04 p.m. Saturday to 3640 Willow Tree Circle regarding shots fired.
“Upon arrival our deputies observed multiple fatalities and victims that included three adults and four juveniles that had been shot,” Daniel said. “One of the adult males and three juveniles were transported to metro Atlanta area hospitals.”
Daniel said Andrews, Brown and the 7-year-old were dead at the scene; the 9-year-old died at a local hospital.
No other details were released, but an update is expected at Monday morning at a sheriff’s press conference.
Investigators said the shooter sneaked up to the house and started shooting; he had parked his car some distance from the house, 11Alive reported.
“I heard a couple quick shots, you know, back to back to back. Went out there and, you know, looked and it was already over,” neighbor Brandon Hallman told The Associated Press.
“We just grabbed some towels and kind of went down there to try and help before the paramedics got here,” Hallman told the AP.
Bodies were reportedly found inside and outside of the home. “As you can imagine we have neighbors that are in shock, neighbors who came to the aid of those victims,” DCSO Chief Deputy Stan Copeland told WSBTV.
Copeland told several reporters, “I’ve been with the Sheriff’s Office 38 years and I’ve never seen this many victims in one shooting.”
