Pilot Lands Plane Safely on Interstate 20
The emergency landing happened in Newton County at about midnight Sunday night.

COVINGTON, GA — A pilot is safe after emergency landing a plane on Interstate 20.
WSB-TV reports that the Cessna 172m settled alongside the busy highway at about midnight in Newton County -- about 35 miles east of Atlanta.
Authorities were not identifying the pilot Monday, but the plane is registered to Flight Train Monroe Company.

Flight officials told the station the pilot was running low on gas and had to land immediately.
The plane only sustained minor damage in the emergency landing.
