Repeat Offender Gets Long Prison Sentence for Douglasville Hotel Robbery
The Douglas County District Attorney's Office said Jeremy Ray Troutman is a five-time convicted felon.

A five-time convicted felon was sentenced to 50 years in prison in Douglas County Superior Court, the county district attorney’s office said.
Jeremy Ray Troutman was sentenced as a repeat offender, the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office said Friday on Facebook. He was sentenced by Chief Superior Court Judge Robert J. James.

Troutman was convicted for armed robbery, aggravated assault, kidnapping and using a weapon during the commission of a felony for a May 2012 crime at the Royal Inn Douglasville.
He was captured on hotel video using a large butcher’s knife to steal nearly $1,000 from the cash register. The D.A.’s office said Troutman held the clerk at knifepoint, moved her to the back halllway area, then forced her to open the cash register.

Assistant District Attorney Tom Kegley said multiple camera anglers showed the crime take place. Troutman’s fingerprints were found on the cash register, till and room registration paperwork.
