Reward Offered in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Fatality

A reward is being offered in the fatal hit-and-run that killed a pedestrian Saturday morning in Lithia Springs.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in finding the driver responsible for striking and killing Robert Stoskopf, 67, before 8 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2. Stoskopf was found lying beside Thornton Road on the northbound side of the road behind a guard rail, the sheriff’s office said. It’s an area near the intersection of Thornton Road and Waterford Club Drive.
A $1,000 reward is being offered for the arrest of the person or persons responsible.

The sheriff’s office and Georgia State Patrol are looking for a vehicle that has had recent front-end or right-front-end damage.
