They are telling potential victims to go immediately to a Rite Aid or Kroger to purchase vouchers. The subjects explain that you have to go to Kroger and have to have cash but, if you go to a Rite Aid, you can use a credit/debit card. The subjects advise the victim to purchase 5 vouchers in a total amount of $2,385.00. The suspects want to stay on the phone with you while you are doing this, and will ask for a cell phone number in order to keep in contact with the victim during the transaction.
The subjects want the victim to activate the voucher and ask for the number off the vouchers to confirm that they have been activated. The subjects have said then to take the vouchers to the sheriff’s office and if the vouchers are not activated the complaints will go to jail. They have been very forceful and intimidating during the reported calls. The phone number that the suspects are giving is 770-558-5860 and when you call it back, it states you have reached Captain Timothy Pounds with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. ...
