DOUGLAS COUNTY, GA — Several Douglas County schools, including Turner Middle School, were on lock down Tuesday as Douglas County Sheriff's deputies chased two people who were wanted by several local police jurisdictions, according to the sheriff's office. One person has been arrested and one remains at large.
Police said at approximately 1:20 p.m., deputies were involved in a foot chase near Turner so the school was locked down the school for the safety of the children. Out of concern, other schools in the area began locking their schools down as a precaution. A perimeter was set up and a K-9 handler was called in to track the suspect.
K-9 Deputy Bando apprehended the person at approximately 2:39 p.m.
