See 1950s McDonald's Set Constructed for Keaton Movie

Complete with "golden arches," the set in downtown Douglasville will help tell the story of McDonald's founder Ray Kroc.

As you may know, the filming in Douglasville for the Michael Keaton movie “The Founder” begins Thursday.

Some of the scenes will be shot at an 1950s-style McDonald’s restaurant — complete with golden arches — on Church Street. The Douglas County Sentinel shared several photos of the set on Facebook, shot Wednesday as crews were putting the finishing touches on the set.

Filming for the movie, which tells the story of McDonald’s founder Ray Kroc (played by Keaton), also will close some downtown streets on shooting days. The movie is expected to be released next year.
