Woman Pepper Sprayed In Douglasville Walmart Carjacking: Police

A woman was pepper sprayed in the face as carjackers asked for money and then stole her car at the Douglasville Walmart Tuesday.

DOUGLASVILLE, GA – A woman was pepper sprayed in the face as carjackers asked for money and then stole her car at the Douglasville Walmart Tuesday, according to police.

The people were arrested, one young adult and one juvenile, after a Douglas County Sheriff’s deputy spotted the stolen car, about 20 minutes later, traveling westbound on I-20 near Temple. He attempted to make a traffic stop but the suspects fled. A short time later, the vehicle was disabled when a Douglas County Sheriff’s Deputy used the P.I.T. maneuver and the two were taken into custody.

At approximately 10:53 a.m., the woman was carjacked in the WalMart parking lot at 7001 Concourse Pkwy. in Douglasville. She told police that two people approached her near her car and asked for money. When she attempted to retrieve some from her car, she was pepper sprayed in the face.

Police reports have not been completed yet or approved, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
