Woman Who Killed East Point Police Officer Pleads Guilty, Gets Life Sentence
Danielle Alexis Parker admitted murdering her estranged wife Crystal Parker in July of 2013.

A woman has been sentenced to serve the rest of her life in prison, but with the possibility of parole, after pleading guilty to the murder of an East Point police officer in 2013, the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office announced Wednesday.
Danielle Alexis Parker, 34, pleaded guilty to charges of murder, felony murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime for the July 4, 2013 killing of Cpl. Crystal Parker, a seven year veteran of the East Point Police Department, inside her home in College Park. She had suffered at least one gunshot wound to her head.
Danielle and Crystal had lived together for approximately five years, but separated in December of 2012. Crystal and Danielle remained under the same roof until June of 2013, when Crystal asked Danielle to move out. Crystal soon got a new girlfriend, further enraging Danielle. A day after Crystal returned from Florida to visit her new girlfriend, Danielle shot and killed Crystal with her personal handgun.

Danielle told police she hadn’t been to Crystal’s home in over a week, but investigators discovered cell phone records that put Danielle at the crime scene, incriminating text messages between Danielle and a friend, and a gaming console stolen from Crystal’s home that was found inside Danielle’s home. Parker was arrested on July 9 in Fairburn. The trial of Danielle Parker was set to begin at 9 a.m. Wednesday, but she entered a guilty plea before jury selection began.
At the subsequent sentencing hearing, prosecutors sought life in prison without parole and Danielle sought a chance at parole at some point in the future. Fulton County Superior Court Judge Kimberly E. Adams sentenced Danielle to life in prison with the possibility of parole.
