• Manhunt for ‘violent' sex offender in metro Atlanta (wsbtv.com) — Fairburn residents should be aware that Fulton County authorities are searching for a convicted rapist with a long history of sexual offenses, including a 2017 rape case in Fairburn. Officials say he disappeared during his trial, was convicted in absentia, and is considered extremely dangerous, urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers anonymously. 
• Fulton County School District offers tuition-based option for out-of-district high school students (wsbtv.com) — Families in and around Fairburn should know that Fulton County Schools will now let out-of-district students pay tuition to attend several high schools, including Global Impact Academy in Fairburn. District leaders say it offers private-school-like options at lower cost, while some parents worry about class sizes and widening gaps between families who can and can’t afford tuition.
