• Pepsi-Cola Workers in Georgia Join Teamsters (teamster.org) — Jonesboro readers should know that more than 30 Pepsi workers at the Stonecrest facility have voted to join Teamsters Local 528, seeking better pay and protections. Though the organizing happened in Stonecrest, the union local represents workers across Georgia, including the Jonesboro area, and leaders say this win adds momentum for future contracts and organizing efforts. 
• Paper Gang Family members sentenced for drug trafficking in Atlanta (fox5atlanta.com) — A Jonesboro resident was among 13 people sentenced in a major federal drug case tied to an Atlanta-based gang that trafficked fentanyl, meth, and cocaine across the metro area. Sentences range up to 18 years in prison, with no parole, after a multi-year investigation that seized large quantities of narcotics and dozens of firearms.
