According to WSB-TV, eight-year-old Lake Bozman will become the newest member of the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday, courtesy of Bert’s Big Adventure. Bozman will receive a one-day player contract which will entitle him to join the team’s pre-game warmups, visit the locker room, and even get his own official Hawks jersey.

Bozman was unable to accompany Bert’s Big Adventure down to Florida due to another bout with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Bozman and his family received the invitation for the trip in December, but he fell ill before the big-send off on Feb. 19.

Never one to renege on a promise, Bert’s Big Adventure founder Bert Weiss made sure that an Atlanta Hawks bus rolled up to Lake’s Kennesaw home on Monday morning and took him to meet with Atlanta Hawks owner and CEO Steve Koonin on The Bert Show, BleacherReport says.

Once everyone was in the studio, Koonin made the official announcement that Lake would be joining the Hawks before their game with Phoenix on Tuesday, according to BleacherReport. Lake was feted by Hawks cheerleaders and got a visit from Harry the Hawk himself.

With the Hawks’ record sitting at 57-19 and the first seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs sewn up, Lake’s signing may be just what the team needs to ensure a magical end to the magical season.
