Safe Alcohol Sales 92% of the time in unincorporated Lawrenceville
Unincorporated Lawrenceville compliance check results are in for April-June 2015!

Businesses in unincorporated Lawrenceville support Gwinnett County by providing their services to the citizens, paying taxes and numerous other ways. The businesses that sell and/or serve alcohol also support the community by training their employees NOT to sell alcohol to minors and/or overserving adults who are already intoxicated. By conducting the trainings and teaching their employees how to correctly check IDs and be aware of the signs of someone who is intoxicated, these businesses are making sure that our community is healthier and safer. They are also ensuring that when the Gwinnett County Police Department (GCPD) conducts compliance checks, which occur on a monthly basis, that they follow the laws when it comes to selling alcohol in the community and the employees of these businesses do NOT sell to the underage decoy.
Alcohol damages teenagers’ and young adults’ developing brains by impacting their memory and learning. Studies have also shown that one of the last parts of development and maturation in the human brain takes place in the prefrontal cortex, which is the reasoning and judgment part of the brain. This means that youth who drink alcohol make poorer choices, which can have great individual and community consequences such as driving under the influence or participating in activities that can cause injuries to themselves and others.
We salute and thank the 92% of alcohol retailers who did not sell alcohol to the underage decoys during April, May and June during the compliance checks. The following businesses continue to make our community healthier and safer:
