• Monsters & Movie on Main: spend Halloween in Lilburn with trick-or-treating, a movie, and family fun (atlantaonthecheap.com) — Lilburn families can plan now for the free Monsters and Movie on Main Halloween celebration downtown on Saturday, Oct. 31, from 4 to 8 p.m. Kids can trick-or-treat along Main Street, enjoy games and food trucks in Lilburn City Park, enter a costume contest, and stay for a family-friendly movie on the big screen.
   

• Georgia Lottery tickets sold in Lilburn, Savannah and Norcross win big (wsbtv.com) — A Powerball ticket sold at the Chevron Food Mart on Stone Mountain Highway in Lilburn has won $50,000 in the Oct. 7 drawing. Other big Georgia Lottery wins were reported in Savannah and Norcross, and the next Powerball jackpot on Oct. 10 is expected to reach $516 million.
   

• Former Gwinnett therapist to serve 5 life sentences for assaulting teen over 50 times (ocgnews.com) — A Lilburn man and former child therapist has been sentenced in Gwinnett County to multiple consecutive life terms for repeatedly sexually assaulting a teenage girl over two years. Prosecutors say the unusually harsh sentence is meant to send a clear message that such abuse will not be tolerated, and the case included testimony from an additional victim.
