Suspected High School Field House Burglar Arrested
James Felton Hogan Jr. was arrested in Virginia in connection with sports equipment thefts at several schools, including Loganville High.

Police in Virginia have arrested a man and woman in connection with the break-ins and thefts of sports equipment from several metro high schools, including Loganville High.
The Roanoke Times reported that James Felton Hogan Jr., 28, of Hoover, Ala., and an accomplice, Angela Jean Bono, 28, were arrested Tuesday night near Blacksburg, Va. They were nabbed after they fled from a traffic stop for speeding, the newspaper reported. The vehicle they were in was reportedly stolen.

Bono, the suspected driver, was apprehended after crashing the vehicle at the end of the chase sometime after 7 p.m., but Hogan fled on foot, resulting in a police manhunt that ended around midnight in an abandoned building.
Hogan had warrants out for him for the break-ins at area high school field houses in early January, including Jan. 11 at Loganville High. Similar crimes were reported at Grayson, South Gwinnett, Heritage and Rockdale County, according to this Gwinnett Daily Post report..

On Jan. 12, the Loganville High baseball coach reported the program’s facilities had been broken into and that several items like gloves and baseballs had been stolen. Surveillance video showed a man fitting Hogan’s description using bolt cutters to break in, the Roanoke paper reported.
Most of the stolen items were recovered at a local Play It Again store.
Hogan is suspected in at least three of the other high school break-ins, the newspaper reported
Hogan and Bono were arraigned Wednesday in Montgomery County, Va. Preliminary hearings are scheduled April 6.
Hogan, who is listed on the Georgia Sex Offender registry for a 2008 conviction for statutory rape, is facing charges in Georgia of burglary, possession of tools during the commission of a crime, criminal interference with government property and wearing a mask. It is unclear what charges he faces in Virginia.
Bono was charged with eluding police, reckless driving and buying and receiving stolen goods.
