Bibb County SWAT Commander Honored with Macon Hero Award

The McArthur Law Firm recently presented the Macon Hero Award to Bibb County Sheriff’s Office S.W.A.T. Commander Lt. Jesse Thompson in recognition of his actions during a dangerous emergency response.

Thompson was honored for his role in rescuing a barricaded suspect from a burning home. According to officials, he took the lead in the operation, breaching the door and entering the residence despite heavy smoke and flames.

Authorities say Thompson successfully removed the individual from the home, preventing further harm as the fire continued to spread.
