Emergency Management Agency asking for your help April 6

Macon-Bibb County’s Emergency Management Agency (EMA) is asking residents to help identify potential risks and improve preparedness across the community as it updates its Pre-Disaster Hazard Mitigation Plan.

The plan is designed to help EMA understand potential hazards, assess the preparedness of both residents and local departments, and guide future training and mitigation efforts.

“By reviewing our potential risks and planning for preparation and response, we can reduce or eliminate the impacts from those threats,” said EMA Deputy Director Robert McCord.

The next public meeting will be held April 6 at 6:00 p.m. at the Macon Mall, in the meeting space near the Board of Elections.

“Everyone’s voice should be heard and be part of making our community more prepared for future disasters,” McCord added.
