Macon-Bibb to Celebrate Earth Day with Community Event at Amerson River Park

Macon-Bibb County will celebrate Earth Day on Saturday, April 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Amerson River Park.

Now in its 16th year, the free, family-friendly event will feature live music, educational exhibits, giveaways, a wellness zone, and a bicycle raffle. Children who complete activities will receive a free Earth Day t-shirt.

The theme, “Our Power, Our Parks, Our Planet,” highlights sustainability and community involvement. Organizers will also recognize individuals and organizations contributing to a greener Macon-Bibb.

Event organizers say the celebration aims to promote environmental awareness and encourage year-round action across the community.

“We love coming together each year to plan this event because we get to help build a more sustainable community together,” says Earth Day Committee Chair Sam Kitchens.
