Kennesaw Man Charged With Hit-And-Run In Fatal Marietta Crash
The Mableton man who was killed in the crash Monday has been identified.
MARIETTA, GA — A Kennesaw man is being charged on suspicion of hit-and-run after a fatal crash that killed a Mableton man Monday, Cobb County Police said Thursday.
Police said Artie Dumas, 60, was crossing Floyd Road near Maran Lane outside of the crosswalk around 10:30 p.m., during which a 2018 Hyundai Elantra was heading north on Floyd and approaching Maran.
The Elantra hit Dumas, police said. Witnesses told officers the driver briefly stopped before fleeing the scene, police said. Dumas was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police identified the driver as Kristopher Johnson, 30, of Kennesaw. Johnson turned himself in at the police precinct Thursday morning and was charged on suspicion of hit-and-run, police said.
