Marietta Traffic Calming Options To Be Discussed With Public

Marietta city officials will hold a public meeting Thursday to consider traffic-calming options on two streets.

MARIETTA, GA — The city of Marietta will hold a public meeting Thursday to consider traffic-calming options on two streets.

The streets are Lawrence Street and Washington Avenue between Cole Street and Fairground Street.

The meeting will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Hugh Grogan Recreation Center, 510 Lawrence St., Marietta.

During the meeting, city staff will present options such as one-way pairs, bike lanes, speed tables, and driver feedback signs.

All feedback will be brought to the Marietta City Council at a time to be determined for a formal public hearing that will be advertised to the community.

During that public hearing, the City Council may vote to choose traffic-calming options that would be installed in the area.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, anyone in attendance is asked to wear a mask and temperatures will be checked before entering the building.

The meeting will be livestreamed on the City of Marietta’s Facebook page where residents will be able to see the presentation and submit comments or questions.
