Power Outage Affects Traffic Signals

Several traffic lights along Powder Springs Road in Marietta have gone dark due to a power outage.

Cobb County motorists who use Powder Springs Road to get around will need to plan for some delays on their trip, as several traffic lights have been disabled by a power outage.

Cobb County DOT reports that they are aware of the affected traffic lights, which span several intersections including Powder Springs and Windy Hill roads. According to Cobb EMC’s power outage map, the affected area is bordered by Macland, Austell, and Windy Hill Roads, and Barrett Parkway. The map says that the power outage began at 9:16 a.m.

Cobb EMC reports that around 700 meters are affected by the current outage. Crews are working to restore power to the affected areas, but do not yet have a timetable to repair the outage.
