• 1 injured in shooting at Henry County home as SWAT team attempted to serve warrant, police say (cbsnews.com) — One person was injured early Friday when shots were fired during a Henry County SWAT operation at a home on King Mill Road in McDonough, where officers were serving an arrest and search warrant. The injured person was taken to a hospital, and authorities say the area is now secure while the Georgia Bureau of Investigation reviews what happened. 
• Savannah State Announces 2026-27 Women's Basketball Signing Class (savannahherald.com) — Savannah State women’s basketball has signed a large 2026–27 recruiting class that includes forward Maegan Jenkins from Union Grove High School in McDonough, where she averaged 12.8 points and 5 rebounds. The program hopes this mix of Georgia standouts, transfers, and a junior college post player will boost depth and competitiveness after an injury-plagued season.
