• Highway, intersection dedicated to Howell and Jane Teasley (thenewsobserver.com) — A section of Old Highway 76 and its intersection with Highway 515 in Morganton now honor Howell and Jane Teasley, founders of Mountain Area Christian Academy and longtime members of Morganton First Baptist Church. Family, friends, local legislators, and students gathered on August 14 to dedicate the roadway, share memories of the couple's faith-driven lives, and formally unveil the new memorial designation.
