• Pilot identified after deadly plane crash in Murray County (wdef.com) — A Morganton resident, orthopedic hand surgeon Dean Dale Worthingstun, was killed when his small plane crashed in a Murray County field while en route to Dalton Municipal Airport. Authorities say the badly damaged single-engine aircraft was discovered Saturday by a man bush-hogging a field, and federal investigators are now examining what caused the fatal crash.
