The broader roundup also covers statewide politics, SNAP benefit changes, election contests, and public safety initiatives that could indirectly affect Nahunta residents’ services and assistance programs. 
• Construction start for Altamaha Green Energy (bioenergyinternational.com) — A major new biomass power plant is moving forward in Jesup, but it will rely in part on wood pellets produced at Archer Forest Products in Nahunta, tying local industry into a $650 million energy investment. Developers say the project will use forestry residues to generate renewable power and steam, modernize utilities at Rayonier’s Jesup mill, and expand Albioma’s footprint in Georgia’s biomass sector.
