1. Glenda Head (polktoday.com) — Rockmart friends and neighbors are invited to honor Mrs. Glenda Sue Head, an 85-year-old longtime Rockmart resident and devoted member of Rockmart First Baptist Church. Services will be held Saturday, September 12, at 2 p.m. at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home, with visitation starting at noon. She is remembered for her love of family, cooking, and warm conversations.
   

2. Bob Williams (polktoday.com) — Rockmart residents are mourning the passing of Bob Williams, a 72-year-old lifelong local who graduated from Rockmart High School and worked more than four decades at Meggitt. Remembered for his love of sports, road trips, and time with family, he leaves behind his wife Lisa, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held later.
   

3. Johnny Cagle (polktoday.com) — Rockmart is saying goodbye to 71-year-old resident Johnny Wayne Cagle, who moved to town in 2021 after spending much of his life in Bartow County. A retired Shaw Industries employee and Meggitt security guard, he was known for his passion for classic cars and devotion to family. Funeral services were held September 8 at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
   

4. Outrage Grows After Police Fatally Shoot A Georgia Family's Beloved Miniature Donkey, HeeHaw (whiskeyriff.com) — Residents near Rockmart are reacting to a controversial incident where a Cedartown police officer fatally shot HeeHaw, a one-year-old miniature donkey, at Ellsbury Riding and Farm while searching for a missing child. The officer says he fired in self-defense, but the owner and many online critics dispute that, calling for his firing and animal-cruelty charges. The officer is on paid leave while the case is investigated.
