Holland previously told Patch that the driver of a vehicle was traveling southbound on the highway behind a MARTA bus.

That bus stopped to collect pedestrians waiting at the designated stop when the driver, in an effort to avoid striking the bus, veered off the roadway and hit three people, Holland added.

Roswell resident Curtis Freeman, 55, and 41-year-old LarSharon Clark died from injuries sustained in the crash while a third victim was hospitalized for treatment.

Charges are pending the completion of the investigation.
