GOOD MEWS TO HOST "GROUND SCOOPING," NOVEMBER 15, 9:00 A.M.
Ceremony to kick off construction of new, state-of-the-art shelter

Good Mews Animal Foundation, a non-profit, no-kill cat shelter, will mark the beginning of construction of its new facility with a “ground scooping” ceremony on Saturday, Nov. 15, at 9:00 a.m. The ceremony will take place at the new facility site at 3805 Robinson Road, Marietta. The public is invited to attend.
The modern facility will feature 5,600 square feet of cage-free living space for the cats in Good Mews’s care. It will feature large windows with views of gardens and trees, a bright kitten room with ample play space, special needs rooms to house cats who require dedicated care, and space for a planned surgical suite that will facilitate on-site procedures such as spay/neuter surgeries. Construction is expected to begin in December.
“After 26 years of leased space, Good Mews is thrilled to be building a free-standing shelter to house our cats,” said Kelly McNamara, president, Good Mews Board of Directors. “We are so grateful to all who have donated to our capital campaign to turn our dream into reality, and we look forward to welcoming adopters to this beautiful new facility next year.”
