Meet Alicia, an Adorable Tuxedo Lady!

Hi, my name is Alicia! I’m a cute, tuxedo girl with beautiful green eyes and long white whiskers. I’ve been patiently waiting such a long time for a loving person to see my wonderful qualities and give me the home I’ve always dreamed of. Sadly, I’ve spent almost my entire ten year life at the shelter, but I’m still holding out hope for that special someone who’ll look into my sweet eyes and fall in love with me.

I reside in the front lobby and am usually the first to greet visitors. You’ll often find me perched on the bench next to the window watching the birds at our feeder. Sometimes, when I’m feeling snuggly, I’ll even crawl into the lap of a volunteer. At least once a day, I like to pretend there’s a phantom mouse in the lobby and I’ll take off running as fast as I can to catch it. But, it’s not easy being a shelter cat, and sometimes I get grumpy if people try to pet me when I’m sleeping or grooming. After all, we cats need at least 16 hours of sleep a day, and that’s difficult with all the hustle and bustle of a busy shelter. I’m really a low maintenance sort of girl. All I need is a quiet, cozy place to sleep, a sunny window for watching critters, good food to eat, and the love of a human companion. I would be quite content as an “only cat”, or in a home with other cats as long as I have some personal space for myself.

Technically, I’m considered a senior cat at ten years old. But that just makes me about 56 in human years, so see, I’m really middle-aged and still have lots of living left to do!
