Meet Archie, a Loving Senior Lap Kitty

Hello, my name is Archie, and I am one of the sweetest, most loving lap cats you’ll ever meet! I’m not sure how I got my name, because I’m actually a girl. I am one of the first cats to greet visitors in Room 6 of our Furkids free-roaming cat shelter in Doraville. As soon as you come in and sit down, I will seek out your warm lap, curl up, start snuggling, and purr like a motor! I just crave human attention and will make a devoted companion for someone looking for an affectionate lap kitty like me.

I’ve been waiting a very long time for a caring family to adopt me and take me home. Sometimes I get stressed or bored in the shelter environment and, as a result, I over-groom myself, which makes my fur look thin in spots. I hope you can overlook this temporary condition, because once I find my forever home and receive the love and attention I crave, I will relax and let my lovely fur grow in. Technically, I’m considered a senior cat at nine years old, although in human years that only makes me about 52! So, I prefer to think of myself as middle-aged. That’s okay, because November is Adopt a Senior Pet Month, and cats and dogs 8+ years old have $0 adoption fees!
