Meet Popeye, a Gentleman Senior Cat!

Hi, my name is Popeye, and I am truly a very special cat. The fact that I only have one beautiful green eye and one tooth doesn’t get me down at all. In fact, some say these features make me a rather distinguished fellow. I am actually a very handsome, Maine Coon mix, medium-haired, brown and white tabby boy, with a soft coat and big fluffy tail. But, aside from my good looks, I’m one of the sweetest, most gentle, loving cats you’ll ever meet. Even though my life hasn’t been easy, and Furkids had to rescue me twice, I take it all in stride. I’m an easy going sort of guy, who is content with a cozy bed for napping, a nice window for bird watching, delicious food to eat, and lots of love and affection. I have the distinct privilege of being the Furkids Lobby Ambassador who greets visitors as they enter our free-roaming cat shelter. I’m also an ambassador for FIV+ cats, demonstrating that cats with FIV can live normal, healthy, long lives, and even be integrated into homes with non-FIV cats (non-aggressive cats). I’m what they call a senior cat because I’m about 12 years old, although I prefer to think of myself as “mature”. That just means I’m less rambunctious and not as likely to get into mischief as kittens. I’m also not as demanding for your attention and won’t require constant playtime. November is Adopt a Senior Pet Month, and cats and dogs 8+ years old have $0 adoption fees!
