City works to restore live oaks damaged by Savannah Bananas construction (wtoc.com) — Savannah officials are working to restore nine live oaks in Daffin Park that were damaged during construction of the Savannah Bananas' new training facility near Grayson Stadium. City Manager Jay Melder says new protections, soil improvements, and parking changes will safeguard these iconic trees and could reshape how construction and vehicle access are managed around Savannah's historic oaks.

(periopleader.com) — Periop Leader Week is coming to the Savannah Convention Center October 4–7, bringing educational tracks and networking for perioperative leaders. CAT announces appointment to board of directors (wsav.com) — Chatham Area Transit has added Savannah business and media leader Mia Mance to its board of directors, replacing former member Bert Brantley. Her experience with the Savannah Downtown Business Association and local nonprofits is expected to shape how public transportation serves riders across Savannah and Chatham County in the coming years.
   

4. Savannah: Savannah Banana to debut on 'Dancing with the Stars' (wjcl.com) — A Savannah Bananas player, Jackson Olson, is stepping onto an even bigger stage as he debuts on Season 35 of "Dancing with the Stars," airing locally on WJCL. After entertaining fans at Grayson Stadium and on TikTok, he's now trading baseball gear for ballroom shoes and hoping local viewers will cheer him on.
   

5. Savannah endocrinologist shares simple lifestyle steps to reverse prediabetes (wtoc.com) — A Savannah endocrinologist is urging residents to take prediabetes seriously and get screened, noting many people have it without knowing. She recommends cutting sugary drinks, including sweet tea, and adding simple daily exercise to help prevent progression to Type 2 diabetes and long-term complications.
