2 At Suntrust Park Sold Booze To Minor: Police

SMYRNA, GA — Two restaurants at Battery Atlanta, the shopping and dining district at the Atlanta Braves' home of Suntrust Park, sold alcohol to a minor during a police operation there, authorities say.

Employees at El Super Pan and Antico Pizza sold booze to a volunteer who is younger than 21, according to the Cobb County Police Department. Eight other restaurants and bars that were visited during the compliance check on Monday did not sell to the minor, police said.

El Super Pan, at 875 Battery Ave. No. 862, is a Latin-themed sandwich bar owned by chef Hector Santiago that opened last month. It also has a location in Ponce City Market. Antico Pizza, at 75 Pkwy. No. 420, is an Atlanta-based pizza chain started with a location in Midtown.

In both cases, the servers were cited by police and the restaurants were issued administrative fees of $750, according to Cobb County Police spokeswoman Officer Sarah O'Hara. It was the first offense for both restaurants, O'Hara said.

The fees assessed on the alcohol license-holder increase each time an establishment is cited for selling alcohol to minors. On a sixth offense, an administrative process is begun to determine whether the establishment may retain its license.

The following restaurants and bars at Battery Atlanta did not sell to the undercover officer on Monday:

• Wahlburgers (455 Legends Pl #920, Atlanta, GA 30339)
• Punch Bowl Social (875 Battery Ave #720, Atlanta, GA 30339)
• Cru Wine Bar (915 Battery Ave, Atlanta, GA 30339)
• Yard House (825 Battery Ave #320, Atlanta, GA 30339)
• Feed Fried Chicken (900 Battery Ave #600, Atlanta, GA 30339)
• Sports and Social (825 Battery Ave #600, Atlanta, GA 30339)
• C Ellets (2605 Circle 75 Pkwy #400, Atlanta, GA 30339)
