The shooting happened around 10 p.m. Monday outside a store on the 1600 block of Roswell Street, reported The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The 22-year-old victim, identified as Michael Ezzard Jr., was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Police described the suspect as an “unknown Black male” who they believe fled the scene in a gray Honda four-door vehicle that a woman was driving.

The car was last seen traveling westbound on Hawthorne Avenue, police said.
Surveillance footage shared with WSB-TV shows Ezzard talking with two people while standing outside a store in a shopping center. The suspect then runs up to the victim from behind, gun in hand. He points the gun at the victim’s head and wrestles him to the ground as the victim tries to push the gun away before he is shot.
