Cobb Police Investigating Fatal Shooting

Cobb County police believe the person who shot and killed a woman at an Austell apartment complex on Tuesday morning knew his victim.

According to WSB-TV, residents of the Lake Cross Apartments called police at approximately 2 a.m. in reference to shots being fired in the complex. Police rushed to the scene and found a woman shot and laying in a breezeway. 11 Alive News reports that the victim has been identified only as a woman in her early to mid 20’s and was shot multiple times.

The victim was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where she succumbed to her wounds, WSB-TV said. Police are searching for a man who was seen near the scene driving a black Chrysler 300, according to 11 Alive.

11 Alive reports that Cobb police took custody of three children who were inside the victim’s apartment at the time of the shooting.
