- Project D4030 will add a median to a .74 mile stretch of Windy Hill Road between Cobb Parkway and Circle 75 Parkway. The project will also add an additional eastbound and westbound lane and replace the sidewalks along the route. This project will cost approximately $14.8 million.
- Project D4020 will add a median on Windy Hill Road between Rottenwood Creek and Interstate North Parkway, and alter the lane alignments so that there are three lanes of travel in both directions. This project will cost approximately $1.5 million.
- Project D4230 will add a westbound travel lane on Windy Hill Road between Cedar Glenn Way and Interstate North Parkway. The sidewalks on the westbound side of this .29 mile stretch will also be replaced. Total cost for this project is $6.95 million.
- Project E4100 will construct a diverging diamond interchange at Interstate 75 and Windy Hill Road. No road closures are expected during the construction, but congestion delays are anticipated. Once the interchange is complete, motorists will not be able to turn right on to Interstate North Parkway. The total cost of this project is $20 million.
- Project E3030 will modify the intersection of Windy Hill Road and Cobb Parkway to include dual left turn lanes on the north and south sides of Cobb Parkway, extending the existing dual left turn lanes, adding a right turn lane on the west side of Windy Hill Road, and the construction of a third northbound lane on Cobb Parkway. Provisions will also be made for queue jumper lanes. New pedestrian accommodations and new traffic signals are also included in the $5.7 million project.
All five projects will have a simultaneous groundbreaking ceremony on Oct. 20 at 10:30 a.m. The projects are expected to be finished by 2017.
