Community Comes Together to Plan 7th Annual Mableton Community Day
The 7th Annual Mableton Day Celebration will be held at the Mable House Arts Complex Saturday, May 19, 2012.

It won’t be long now before all of Mableton comes together for what has become the event of the season. The 7th Annual Mableton Day Celebration will be held at the Mable House Arts Complex Saturday, May 19, from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Admission is free of charge.
While the event continues to grow each year, the focus continues to be on fun for the whole family. The extremely popular 5K race will start the day and will be joined by the new Family Fun Run for the kids. Entertainment will feature a wide variety of acts from throughout the metro area. Of course, a festival wouldn’t be complete without games and jumpies for the kids, goodies to eat, arts and crafts for all ages and a classic car show.
This year, the celebration will feature the We Can! in Mableton Fitness Pavilion, sponsored by Cobb Public Health, Lifelong Mableton and AARP. In the pavilion residents of all ages will play and engage in activities that remind us that healthy eating and physical fitness can be fun for everyone at every stage of their lives!

Mableton Community Day founder, Albert McRae explains why he continues to be involved each year. “Mableton is such a special place and it is important to celebrate all the wonderful elements that make our community great. The event helps us promote fellowship, our businesses and neighbors, health and wellness opportunities, and especially our students’ achievements in our local schools.”
This year's celebration is hosted by the Mableton Day Coalition (MDC), a partnership of three not for profit organizations: Mableton Improvement Coalition, Inc.; South Cobb Arts Alliance, Inc.; and the Amateur Advocate Association Inc. Sponsors are still welcome at a variety of levels.Eligible not-for-profit organizations will have the opportunity to compete for two grants which will be awarded on the basis of a point system. First place grant is $1,000 and second place grant is $500. Points can be earned as a result of registering attendees, race participation, volunteering to help run activities of the day and arranging sponsor support. Check the website at www.mabletonday.com for more details about participation and how to earn the points.
