Cobb County Unemployment Rates Lower than Metro Average
The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for metro Atlanta for May was 8.9 percent, up one-tenth percent from April.
According to the Georgia Department of Labor, metro Atlantaβs jobless rate rose to 8.6 percent in May from 8.5 percent the previous month, still lower than Georgiaβs seasonally adjusted employment rate of 8.9 percent.
GDOL attributed the increase to an influx of job seekersβ16,578 were added in May. Of those looking for work, 10.570 found jobs within a month.
Cobb Countyβs unemployment rate for May was 8.1 percent.
