foreverJONES to Perform at Austell Church Tonight

The Stellar Award-winning, Grammy- and Dove-nominated Gospel music group, foreverJONES, is coming to Austell this evening at 8 for a teen concert, which is part of the Economic Empowerment Conference, at

The group is made up of Dewitt and Kim Jones and their five children, D'Jeniele, DeWitt IV, Judah, Dominique and Mya Joy Grace.

The family lives in Shreveport, La., and they minister and worship at Shreveport Community Church.

Early in their marriage DeWitt and Kim were told that Kim would not be able to have children as a result of a bout with Toxic Shock Syndrome that she experienced when she was 18. Kim was later diagnosed with Pelvic Inflammatory Disease as a result.

Although Kim was prescribed medication, she decided not to take it and instead believed God would heal her.

In June 2010, their debut release “Get Ready” hit the Billboard Gospel charts at No. 3. They went to No. 1 with “He Wants It All,” a powerful song reminding those who say they are followers of Jesus Christ to give Him access to all areas of their lives.

Some of the lyrics include, "He says, 'Love me. Love me with your whole heart.' He wants it all today. 'Serve me. Serve me with your life now.' He wants it all today. 'Bow down. Let go of your idols.' He wants it all today. He wants it all today. He wants it all."

“All of our songs are born out of 9 a.m. morning devotions,” DeWitt said in a biography on the group’s website.

Both DeWitt and Kim, who are Washington state natives, have extensive musical backgrounds and have been traveling and performing Gospel music since they were teens.

DeWitt experienced early songwriting success with “Use Me,” which worship leader Ron Kenoly recorded on the very successful 1994 album, “God Is Able.”

However, the Jones children certainly each bring a valuable talent to the group’s sound as well.

The Jones’ eldest daughter, D’Jeniele’ is a songwriter, vocalist and a guitarist. Dominique is one of the group’s principal songwriters and is a dynamic vocalist and multi-instrumentalist who often writes complex arrangements on both the guitar and keys.  

Youngest daughter Mya Joy Grace delivers the closing line of “Time To Believe,” her favorite song on the album, with absolute conviction.

But don’t count out the boys.  The Jones’ sons, Dewitt IV and Judah, have quite a bit to offer as well.  Dewitt IV is quite an accomplished bass player. Judah used to use pots and pans as his instruments, and at the age of 2, the family saw his drumming talent. He’s been the family’s drummer ever since.

From their love of God and for each other, DeWitt and Kim were able to help birth the group (literally), foreverJONES, even after being told they’d never have children.

Thirty years of marriage later, they are still firm believers that with God, all things are possible.
