Job, Housing and Health Fair Expo in South Cobb a Huge Success
The Community Spoke and We Listened.
Cobb Restore 360, the Records Expungement and Job, Housing and Health Fair Expo was a huge success at the EpiCenter.
Our community showed up to take advantage of the job opportunities and social services that were being offered. Companies and Resource Agencies including Amazon, Home Depot, Six Flags Over Georgia, Cobb County Human Resources, Cobb Legal Aid, Cobb and Douglas Public Health and more were in attendance. The community spoke and we listened. Residents came out to meet their future employer and to get the resources their family needed.
Under the leadership and partnership of Cobb Chairman Mike Boyce, Cobb District Attorney Joyette Holmes, Solicitor Barry Morgan, along with a dedicated team of organizers, we were able to achieve something great in our community.

The team was led by Assistant D.A. Latonia Hines and Cobb Chairman Special Assistant Mike Murphy. Team members included Deena Fincher and other members of the D. A.’s staff, Alisa Jackson and Sherrod Jones of Cobb Works, Dr. Ben Williams and Pax Riddle of SCLC, along with community advocates Terry Alexis Cummings and me, Shelia Edwards, representing our South Cobb community.
Special thanks to Cobb Public Safety Officials, along with Deborah Johnson of the Austell Community Task Force and Joel Cope of the Mabelton Improvement Coalition, who worked with us to manage the process, along with members of their organizations. Special acknowledgement must be made to Dr. Christopher Boyd and Event Manager Portia Benbow for allowing us to host this event at the EpiCenter, the jewel of the South Cobb Community. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of this event in South Cobb.

The Community Spoke and We Listened. You said you wanted a good job, so this was held in our community to ensure that you had that opportunity. Terry Alexis Cummings and I were glad to be part of this special event. Terry Alexis Cummings is a Candidate for the Georgia House of Representatives for District 39. I am a Candidate for the Cobb County Commission for District 4. Together, we are working in our community each day to improve the quality of life for the people who call South Cobb home. This is an example of that work. Terry and I will continue to work hard for you because our community deserves it. Look for even greater things occurring in our community because Terry and I are On the Job for South Cobb.
The success of this event will allow us to duplicate our efforts in other parts of Cobb County. The next Cobb 360 Records Expungement and Job, Housing, and Health Fair Expo is already being planned for June 2020 at the Cobb County Civic Center. More information will be released soon.
Thanks again South Cobb for being supportive of our efforts.
