Masterpieces Bloom at Austell Gallery's Garden Party Art Competition
The Austell gallery gave prizes for those who placed in the competiton.
On Saturday, of Austell sponsored "A Garden Party Art Competition" for local artists. Many of the paintings were from local gardens on Douglasville's Hydrangea Festival Garden tour.
Judy Cooper from Powder Springs took First Place on her watercolor piece, winning a prize of $100.
- Second Place went to Gail Newman for her pastel.
- Third Place was won by Susan Gardner from Bremen
- Special Awards went to Judith Bowers from Douglasville for her acrylic painting of Suzanne Hudson's garden, Cheryl McCulough from Douglasville on her Hydrangea watercolor, and Ron Whittingham from Mableton.
"The Sweetwater Valley has a wealth of beauty and talented artists to capture it! We are so proud to have the opportunity to feature these artists," stated Ann Cockerill, owner of the Red Cockerill Gallery, in a press release.
