South Cobb Community keeps children fed

50,000 children in Cobb County depends on meals at schools to eat, the south Cobb community came together to fill in the gap temporarily

MONDAY 3/16/20 UPDATES WE FED OVER 255 KIDS TODAY FROM 11-1pm. Ready to go on Day one

We Thrive Resource Center was in full affect today and fed children from three neighboring apartment communities. Pizza was served and children were treated to ice cream from the ice cream truck Thank you to State of Schools, Cobb County Public Health Department Chris White and Jeff Kueule for their assistance and site coordinator Monica Evette DeLancy. Dr. Billups donated crayons, pencils and bags as well. The lunches are sponsored by Lexington/Austell Properties who signed on to sponsor the lunches immediately on Thursday once Monica contacted the corporate office. The Thrive Resource Center will serve as a homework hub also Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. And lunch on Friday 11am to 1pm The location will also provide resource. There will be no lunches served next week and services will resume March 28th 2020

Austell Elementary PTA is partnering with the City of Austell to provide Lunch Bags at Austell United Methodist Church, M-F, 11-1pm.

WE HAVE ADDITIONAL LOCATIONS The Village Mobile Home Community on Riverside Parkway, T-F, 11-1 at the Club House. We are working on a Powder Springs location for Wednesday.
